Noga, William, 88, beloved Uncle and cherished member of the Lilly community, passed away on June 21, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on July 2, 1935, in Lilly, Pennsylvania, William was the son of Michael and Sophia Noga. He grew up in Lilly and graduated from Lilly-Washington High School in 1953. William went on to receive his first master's degree at Trenton State University and his second master's degree at Kean University in Education. He presumed his lifelong career of teaching in Franklin Township, New Jersey for 25 years. William was a man of many passions. An avid gardener, he could often be found tending to his prized pumpkins and tomatoes and sharing with everyone his famous homemade pumpkin pies. He also loved playing card games with his family and loved watching Jeopardy. He had a deep love for his family and community as he was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus Council #11084 and the finance coordinator of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Roman Catholic Parish. William also served with 27th Infantry Regiment in the United States Army, and his commitment to his comrades and his country was unwavering. Above all, William was a devoted Uncle. He adored his nieces and nephews and took great pride in their accomplishments. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and unconditional love. His kindhearted nature endeared him to all who knew him. Preceded in death by his loving siblings, Stanley, Joseph, Frances, John, Thomas, Joan, and Anna; his nephew Michael and niece Linda, and many dear friends and extended family members. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his gentle spirit and generous soul. A viewing will be held at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, 812 Main Street Portage, Pennsylvania 15946, on June 26 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Roman Catholic Parish on June 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., Father Matthew Reese, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Alleghenies Roman Catholic Parish and/or Knights of Columbus Lilly Council #11084.
