William W. "Chappy" Chapman

Chapman, William, "Chappy", 78, passed away July 25, 2020 at Windber Woods Sr. Living & Rehab Center. Born December 25, 1941 in Beaverdale, the son of William C. Chapman and Blodwyn O. (Wherry) Chapman. Deceased family members include his parents, daughter Tina M. and son William C. Survived by wife of 59 years, Mildred G. (Weaver) Chapman and four daughters: Betty J. Gordon, Beaverdale; Linda R. Bailey (John), Carlisle; Donna L. Holdsworth (Archie), St. Michael; and Tammy J. Zeamer (Brad), York. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He retired in 2004 after 37 years of service from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. After retirement, he worked part time for Bud's Auto Sales in Beaverdale for several years. He also volunteered in his younger years at the Beaverdale Fire Company. Friends received from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Jerry Zuvers officiating. Committal in Dunmeyer Lutheran Cemetery.
