Farren, Victoria Genevieve, 'Jenny', 95 Portage Twp., (Puritan), passed away June 28, 2020 at Cambria Care Center. Born December 20, 1924 in Portage, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Bednarczyk) Solarczyk. Preceded in death by parents, loving husband, Thomas Farren (1972); beloved daughter Camilla Farren (2016), sisters, Pauline and Lucia (Lucille) Solarczyk, Florence 'Flossie' Bialas, brother, Joseph Solarczyk; infant brothers John and Alex, and nephew, Walter Solarczyk and niece, Dr. JeanAnn Bialas; Jenny is survived by her brother Robert Solarczyk, Geistown, and numerous loving nieces and nephews, especially Patricia Solarczyk Wing, Dawn Tomasko Kline, MaryHelen Bialas-Rivera, and Corinn Bialas Coposky. As a young adult and until 1955, Jenny worked in Michigan, holding various jobs, eventually becoming co-owner of a pub/cafe in Hamtramck. In 1985, she retired as an employee of the state of PA from the dietary department of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She was a member of State Retirees council 13 of Cresson. In her active years, Jenny enjoyed bowling, attending Sunday afternoon church picnics and local community festivals, eating at McDonalds, playing bingo, and watching football and baseball games on television. She embraced her Polish heritage, and was an active member of the former Polish Womens Alliance, ZPA group 721, and the former Polish Heritage Council. Jenny was a long standing member of the former Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Now Holy Family Parish, Portage. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Father Thomas Stabile, officiating. Committal in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Portage.
