Verna (Bem) Shandor

Shandor, Verna (Bem), 95, of Portage, passed away June 24, 2025 at home. Born December 7, 1929 in Portage, the daughter of John and Freda (Schafranek) Bem. Deceased family members include her parents; husband, Andrew J. Shandor; daughters-in-law, Donna and Gayle.  Survived by sons, John and Paul; grandchildren, Michael (Renee); and Michelle. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, baking and crocheting. Friends received from 6-8 p.m., Friday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, Caldwell Ave., Portage at 9 a.m., Saturday, Father Tom Stabile, celebrant. Committal in St. Mary's Cemetery.
