Vaughn George

George, Vaughn, 72, Portage, passed away December 31, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital.  Born August 11, 1947 in Portage, the son of Leroy and Edith (Nesbit) George. Deceased family members include his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Richard George. Survived by loving wife of 49 years Marianne (Havrilla) George; and children, Jeffrey George and wife Maite; Aaron George and Alisha, wife of Marty Slanoc. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Lexi, Alejandra, Easton, and Owen. Brother of, Geraldine Della; Donald "Bucky" George and Debbie Kiel. He served in the U.S. Navy. Retired Coal Miner and also from the Ebensburg Center. Recently employed by the Forest Hills  Pharmacy. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be private but family and friends are invited to attend the Divine Liturgy at 10 am, Saturday at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, Father James Spontak, celebrant. Committal will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Cemetery, Portage. Military rites by the Portage Ritual Team.  The George family is being served by the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage.
