Steve L. "Shorty" Fleck

Fleck, Stephen L., "Shorty", 90 of Wilmore, passed away July 17, 2025 in Johnstown. Born January 15, 1935 in Central City, the son of John and Mary (Glassie) Fleck. He was the last surviving member of his family. Deceased family members include his parents, wife Margaret (Yetsko) Fleck; sister, Pearl Stramanak; brothers, John and Robert Fleck; and grandson, Shawn Crum. Survived by children Steve (Janie) Fleck, Connie (Ken) Crum, Sherry (Dave) Minor and Tom (Laura) Fleck. "Jedo" will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Lt. Colonel Jennifer (Lee) Crum-Bailey, Becky Crum, Sarah (Carl) Sparks, Trooper Lindsey (Scott) Shay, Leann  (Todd) Chapman, Trooper Justin (Alyssa) Fleck and Dave (Amanda) Minor; great-grandchildren, Eli and Emma Bailey, Amelia and Reid Crum, Raylan Shay, and Lincoln, London, and Lenox Minor, and 2 additional on the way! Also survived by loving companion Carol Adams who brought so much joy in his life after the passing of his wife of Marge, of 66 years. From the age of seven, he played the accordion and was a member of the "4 Jay's" and "Polka Magic". He was a master carpenter and machinist, retiring from First Mississippi Steel as a supervisor. Viewing will be private but family and friends are invited to attend the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. Fr. James Spontak, celebrant.
