Ruth Connelly

Connelly, Ruth, 95, Portage passed away January 8, 2020. Born August 12, 1925 in Fallentimber; the daughter of Dolphus and Grace (Kruis) Glass. Deceased family members include her parents, husband James Connelly Sr., brothers Melvin, Roy, Dale, Ronald, and Allen; sister Grace Seiders; and grandson Christopher J. Connelly. Survived by sons James (Linda) Connelly Jr. of Jefferson, MD and Neil (Darlene) Connelly of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren John, Shawn, Melissa and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Aidan, Landon, Jacob, Alex, Jack and William; and sisters Elsie Martin-Keith and Bernice Krise. Ruth is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth worked for the Navy Department during WWII and retired from Schoenfelt's Department Store after 21 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, WELCA, po-ke-no and pinochle clubs. She enjoyed sewing and reading.  
Friends received from 9 - 11 a.m. Monday at the First Lutheran Church, Portage where services will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Mark W. Fischer  officiating. Entombment at Sacred Heart Mausoleum. The Connelly family is being served by the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to The National Brain Tumor Society or the First Lutheran Church, Portage.
