Roy T. (Herk) Frampton

Roy Thomas (Herk) Frampton, 86 of Blue Knob, PA passed away peacefully at home into the arms of Jesus Christ his Savior on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Roy was born in Friedens, Pa. on June 15, 1936 to the late Albert and Alma (Miller) Frampton. He was one of eleven siblings. He married the love of his life, Theresa E. Kankula on February 25, 1956 in Nanty-Glo, Pa. Their deep and abiding love for each other was evident to all who knew and loved them. Roy worked on the sawmill as a sawyer and also drove truck for much of his career. He loved his family and was always asking, “When are you coming home”? His love for the woods and wildlife resulted in a passion for hunting and fishing. Many fond memories were made with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends stomping thru the woods, or fishing out of a boat or along some stream. For many years, he taught Sunday School, led the singing in church, and faithfully attended God’s house. He consistently shared with others his deep faith in Jesus. He wanted everybody to know the God he loved and served. His very favorite song was ‘The Solid Rock’. “Pap”, as he was fondly called by so many, will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many friends and neighbors. He built his life with “eternity's values in view”, and his legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of many. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa, five children; James A. (Dianna) Frampton, Judy L. (Michael) Jackson; Terri J. (Les) Roberts, Duane A. (Sharon) Frampton, Roy D. (Cindy) Frampton, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, ten siblings and grandson Tyler Matthew. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. A viewing & visitation with the family will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 20 at the Mt. Sinai Chapel on Knob Rd. There will also be a time of receiving from 10-11 a.m. on October 21 with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m., Burial will be at the Mt. Sinai Chapel Cemetery.
