Rakar, Ronald, 71 of Portage passed away March 9, 2021 at UPMC-Montefiore. Born June 30, 1949 in Johnstown, the son of Michael and Anne (Spisak) Rakar. Deceased family members include his parents and uncle and aunt Joe and Mary Rakar. Survived by loving wife of 31 years, Jean Ann (Walters) Rakar, daughter Brenda Kleman, and significant other Harry "Butch" Harvey; and son David Singleton. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Brandon (Jenn) Plummer and Dustin (Brianna Rich) Plummer; great-granchildren Kaycie Rich, Grant and Scarlett Plummer. Brother of Theresa (Joseph) Walters and twin brothers Donald (Pat) Rakar. Also survived by niece and nephews Mike and Rick Walters, Eddie, April Fodor, and Todd and Ted Rakar. Former supervisor and plant operator for Portage and Central Mainline Sewer Authority, and last employed as supervisor/operator of the Johnstown Treatment Plant. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Viewing will be private, but family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 10 am. Monday at Holy Family Parish, Caldwell Ave., Portage. Father Tom Stabile, TOR celebrant. Committal will be private for the family.
