Swires, Rita H. (Glasgow), 88, of Portage, passed away October 23, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 6, 1935 in Johnstown, the daughter of Lloyd and Mary (Costello) Glasgow. Deceased family members include her parents, first husband, John "Jack" Herman, second husband  Francis L. "Sonny" Swires, grandsons, Desmond and John Herman, and granddaughter, Mandy Herman. Survived by children, John (Mary Rose) Herman; Terry (John) Wozniak; Barry Herman and special friend Marianne; Jennifer Trexler; Peg Molton and special friend Tom Klett; Frank (Jacquelyn) Swires; and Travis (Kelli) Swires; 16 grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great- Grandchildren. Brother, Michael Glasgow, and sisters, Mary Ann McCarty and Janet Sybert and numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, crocheting, crafting, painting, ceramics, woodworking, golfing, and spending time with family in Potter County. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
