Richard A. "Dick" Minor, Sr.

Minor, Sr., Richard A. "Dick", 81, passed away July 16, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born September 26, 1936 in Summerhill Township,  the son of Samuel and Margaret (O'Neil) Minor. Deceased family members include his parents, wife Mary Ruth (Hunsinger) Minor; son Richard A. Minor Jr.; stepson Charles (Chuck) Miller, great great-grandchild Addison Johnson; brothers Samuel, George, Michael, James, William, John, Thomas, Edward, Joseph, Charles and sisters Susan, Margaret, Irene, and Agnes. Survived by children Perry A. Minor (Claudia) of Beaverdale; Todd (Cindy) Minor of Beaverdale, Richard Anthony Cleary Minor (Janice) of Georgia and Sharon Shelton Minor of Georgia. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great grandson Bryson Johnson. He was the brother of Nick Minor (Pauline) of Wilmore. Also survived by sisters-in-law Martha Minor, Seanor, PA; Marie Minor, Beaverdale; Margaret Minor, Beaverdale and Patricia Minor, Portage and numerous nieces and nephews and step-daughter in law Lynn Miller. He was a retired warehouse manager from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital with 35 years of service. Air Force Veteran with 4 years of service and retired from the Army Reserves of the 130th Chem. Co. for 17 years. He was a member of the Post 430 American Legion Portage. Friends received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC Portage, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday. Committal will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
