Richard A. Husband

Husband, Richard A., 63, Portage, passed away April 15, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 2, 1958, in Johnstown, the son of Richard and Beatrice Dorothy (Trusik) Husband. Deceased family members include his parents, and wife, Denise (Galla) Husband. Survived by sister, Sharon, wife of Edward Squillario; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Lindsey, Michael, Melissa, Adam, Cory, Ryan, Steven, Luke, Rachel, and Alisha. Also survived by in-laws, Edward and May Galla; Karen, wife of Paul Chobany, Valerie Contakos; and Gary and Brian Galla, and their families. Rick leaves behind special friends Laura Tavernini, Francine Shuty, and Jeff Maul and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Retired from Peoples Natural Gas. Rick was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and going to Rocky Gap. He embraced life in general and always woke up with a smile on his face, and was an advocate for the ALS association. Friends received from 4-8 PM, Saturday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will be held at 8 PM, Saturday, Pastor Arthur Black officiating. Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cambria County SPCA, ALS association, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or Trinity United Methodist Church, Portage.
