Kauruter, Nora Barbara, resident of Christ The King Manor Dubois passed away Sept. 16 2022 at Penn Highlands Dubois Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 1933 in Altoona, the daughter of Karl E Byers and Bertha (Lightner) Byers. Married first to David Beach then in 1981 married Michael Kauruter who passed away July 5, 2015 after 33 and a half years of marriage. Survived by son Harold Beach; granddaughter Jessica Beach; grandson Jason Scholl and wife Traci, step children Raymond Kauruter; Ed Kaututer; David Kauruter; Steve Kauruter; Linda Kauruter; Betty Lou Frank; Dianna Guyer; and Tammy Repko. Also, five great grandchildren and eight great great step and grand children. A graduate of Hollidaysburg High School 1n 1951. Member of the Juniata Valley Gospel Church where she was one the organist
for 30 years; sang for duets; trio and quartets and held a number of offices. Plus helping with the youth group. Also a member of the Portage Senior Center where she played piano and led gospel singers that went to local nursing homes. Helped pack meals on wheels did line dancing and Ceramics. Also a member of the Hollidaysburg Alumni
Band and volunteered at the V. A. hospital in Altoona for 10 years. Retired from K Mart in 1981. She enjoyed camping; feeding wild life and raising chickens; ducks and pheasants. After be handicapped she enjoyed putting puzzles together and doing word search and the company of her cockatials. She also enjoyed Nascar and Steelers games; Penn State football and Curwensville football games. There will be no visitation or services. The Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage is serving the Kauruter family.
