Gagan, Michael, Jr., 82, Pomona, N.Y., formerly of Portage, passed away June 16, 2020 at Jewish Home at Rockleigh, N.J. Born December 28, 1937 in Portage, the son of Michael and Mary (Carpec) Gagan. Preceded in death by parents, sister Ethel, brother John, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rocco and Dolly Savino. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Ginny (Savino) Gagan, son Michael (Amy) Gagan, Harpursville, N.Y; daughter Laura (Riuccio) Selvaggi, West Nyack, N.Y.; grandsons, Nicholas and Aiden Selvaggi. Also survived by sister Marge, wife of Len Koval; niece Kristy, wife of Vince Kwisnek; brother-in-law Chris (Pat) Savino; an aunt; nephews Christopher, Kevin and Matt Savino as well as numerous cousins, friends and their families. He was formerly employed in the construction of Portage Area High School, Sylvan Pools; Doylestown, PA and Shop Rite, New City, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was an M.P. He was a graduate of Portage Joint High School. He was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He played baseball for the former Puritan Baseball Team when he was young and also for Portage High School as a pitcher. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, humming birds, flowers and the outdoors. Graveside services were held June 22, 2020 at Gethsemane Cemetery in Nyack, N.Y. Local arrangements provided by the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage.
