Mary B. Solarczyk

Solarczyk, Mary B., 82, of Hanover, PA, died Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center. Born August 17, 1939, in Lilly, PA, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Julia (Gides) Solarczyk. Mary was a 1957 graduate of Lilly Washington High School. She received her BS in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master’s in Education from the Pennsylvania State University. She taught school in the greater Johnstown area for 37 years until her retirement in 1997. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Hanover, PA. Mary is survived by brother, George Solarczyk and wife Susan, a niece, Julia Donnelly and husband Patrick, and a great niece, Catherine Rose Donnelly. She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Solarczyk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with Msgr. James Lyons as celebrant. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM, Friday, February 18, 2022 at the church. Friends received from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt.
