Margaret A. (Wasil) Kunrod

Kunrod, Margaret A. (Wasil), 90, Lilly, passed away June 3, 2018 at Maple Winds Care Center. Born  July 3, 1927 in Lilly, the daughter of Michael and Zofia (Durilla) Wasil. Deceased family members include her parents, brother, Joseph Wasil and sister, Mary Slebodnick.  Survived by loving husband of 68 years Robert P. Kunrod; son, Thomas Kunrod and wife Victoria, Ebensburg; grandchildren, Nicholas and Michael and 4 great grandchildren. She was a member of the church choir and rosary club - fund raising for Mt. Carmel , Slovak athletic Department. During WWII she was employed by Sylvania and retired from the cafeteria at the Penn Cambria School District. Margaret loved her church (Our Lady of Mount Carmel), her Slovak heritage and her wardrobe; not necessarily in that order. The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Winds Care Center for their kindness and care. Friends received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Chapel, Lilly. Father Kevin Queally, TOR celebrant. Committal will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lilly. Family suggests Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lilly/Washington Historical Society. The Kunrod family is being served by the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage.
