Loretta J. (Mock) Golden

Golden, Loretta J. (Mock) 66 of Portage passed away May 19, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic. Born July 10, 1951 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Gerald E. and Sophie A. (Migut) Mock. Survived by devoted  husband of 39 years, Vincent Golden, children Catherine (Matthew) Lindberg, Elizabeth (Erik) Holmgren, Andrew married to the former Rachel Sokalski, Juliette (Craig) DeVore and Emily (Sean) Horn. Survived by sisters Barbara (Mock) married to Joseph Arena, Carol (Mock) married to John Concannon and brother Timothy Mock married to Paula (Cigich); grandchildren Ethan, Hannah, Arianna, Madelyn, Lillian, Vivian, Graham, Stella, Bridgette, Cecilia and Lydia who will greatly miss their "GiGi". Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, in-laws, godchildren and friends also share in this loss. Loretta was a 1969 graduate of Bishop McCort High School. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and her master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a dedicated math teacher at Greater Johnstown Middle School. She survived two episodes of breast cancer and faced her most recent medical challenges with faith, hope and strength. She believed her greatest accomplishment was the family legacy she built with her husband, including their five children and 11 grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and long standing member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, now Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Friends received 6-8pm Wednesday and 4-8pm Thursday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Friday at Holy Family Parish, Caldwell Avenue, Portage.
