Fryzlewicz, Joseph A., 97, Portage, passed away peacefully March 21, 2023 at his son's residence, surrounded by family. Born January 19, 1926, in Portage, the son of Stanley and Mary (Ujwary) Fryzlewicz. Deceased family members include his parents, loving wife Anneliese (Loop) Fryzlewicz; and brothers, Albin, Walter, and Theordore; and sisters, Victoria Yurchik, Helen Stossel, and Stella Zytkowicz. Survived by children; Thomas, Dennis, Doris, Philip, all of Portage. Linda wife of Jerry DeHart, Bryson City, NC; John married to the former Suzanne McCrary, Chambersburg; James married to the former Heidi Tussing, Alfred, ME; and Christine wife of John Reichart, York. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Savannah, Heather, Kyle, Galicia, Gunnar, Jarek, Jocelyn, Anneliese, and Abigail; and great grandson, Jaden. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and will now be reunited with everyone in Heaven. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and also retired from Bethlehem Steel after 15 years of service. He was a devout member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a devoted catholic who prayed every day. He always had a smile to share and enjoyed gardening, grafting fruit trees, taking walks in the woods, and the sounds of nature, especially birds. He loved flowers, especially roses which he passed on that love to his children and grandchildren; he always had a song in his heart and a tune to share. Friends received from 4-8 p.m., Friday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish, Portage. Fr.
