Joseph James Barr

Joseph James Barr of Ebensburg, PA passed away from complications related to diabetes and heart disease at UPMC Hospital, Altoona on May 20th, 2025.  He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph W. Barr and Lucy (Smiach) Barr, as well as sister Alice Koza, all of Portage, PA. Joe leaves behind his sons Joseph Brandon Barr, Johnstown; and Erik Matthew (Carrie) Barr, and his only grandchild Levi Barr, Landenberg, PA.  Joe was a graduate of Dean Tech, Pittsburgh and was employed as a mechanical draftsman for many years.  He played drums in local rock bands for over 25 years.  He also loved dogs, woodworking, and restoring classic cars.  He enjoyed cruise-ins and dining out with close friends and family.  No viewing or public ceremony will be held.  The Barr family is being served by the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage.
