Obituary

Oklamchak, John M., 71, of Munster, passed away May 2, 2023 at home. Born September 25, 1951, the son of John and Edna (Stovich) Oklamchak-Vargo. Deceased family members include his parents; brother-in-law, Donald Hazlett, mother-in-law, Peg Gailey, and nephew, Master Sergeant Kyle Baker. Survived by loving wife of 47 years Becky (Gailey) Oklamchak; son, Danny (Samantha) Oklamchak; grandchildren; Mya and fiancee Tommy Trexler, Athena, Aries, and Avrianna. Also survived by, father-in-law, James Gailey; and brothers and sisters in law, Thomas Gailey and wife Bernice (Eckenrode), Shirley wife of Dave Strittmatter, and Gerald Gailey and wife Gloria (Little). Brother of Mary Ann Hazlett, and Jeanne (Mike) May. He will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Air Force Veteran. Formerly employed by C&C Lumber. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, church Loretto, on Saturday at 10 a.m, the Very Rev. Father John Byrnes, celebrant. Committal in St. Mary's Cemetery, Portage. Military rites by the Portage Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cambria Alliance EMS or the Keystone Volunteer Fire Co.
