John C. Martella III

Martella, John C. III,  62, passed away February 26, 2021 at home. Born July 10, 1958 in Windber, the son of John C., Jr. and Rose Marie (Metz) Martella. Deceased family members include his parents, and brother, Joseph Martella. Survived by loving wife of 34 years Debra (Beck) Martella; son,  Matthew and wife, Lindsay; and daughter, Caitlin, wife of Charles Nagy, both of Pittsburgh. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Mason; Camden; and Mackenzie. Brother of Michael S. Martella and wife Stephanie; and Maria Gerula. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Former Nursing Home Supervisor and owner and operator of the Alibi Restaurant and Lounge in Richland. Avid golfer and member of the Portage Moose Home.  Friends received from 4 to 8 PM  Monday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC., Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday at Holy Family Parish, Portage with Fr. Thomas Stabile, T.O.R. celebrant. Committal in St. Mary's Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Hospital. The family also would like to thank Conemaugh Hospice for the excellent care given to John.
