John Fitzgerald Behe

Behe, John Fitzgerald, 60, of Lilly, passed away August 28, 2025, at Maple Winds Care Center, Portage, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer. Born December 2, 1964, in Altoona, The son of James Milton and Caroline (Leja) Behe. Deceased family members include his parents and brother, James John "Buzzy" Behe. Survived by 2 sisters, Barbara (Robert) Ruffley, and Sally Wilcox Santon. Also survived by, sister-in-law, Linda (Glenn) Behe, Aunt Jean, a nephew, and several nieces, cousins, and friends. John is a graduate of Penn Cambria Senior High School.  He holds an associate degree in computer science from Mount Aloysius College and has done further computer studies at St. Francis College. John was formerly employed by Martindale Lumber, Sheehan's Gas Station, Ronan's Bar, Cassandra Borough, and was a longtime current steward and bar tender at the G.B.U. Club in Lilly. In the past he was EMT for the Lilly Area Ambulance Association and Cresson Area Ambulance Association. John loved being an EMT, as he always  loved to help others. John was a kind, gentle soul who  loved animals, especially his cat Oreo. He was greatly loved by his family and many good friends.  We will miss him so much! Friends received from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Father Matthew Reese, officiating.
