Obituary
Mack, Joanne Louise, 90, Portage, formerly of Nanty Glo, passed away Sunday morning February 12, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born June 26, 1932 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Thomas and Coletta (Sanderson) McDermott. Deceased family members include her parents, husband of 22 years Edmund Mack, brother Robert McDermott and two sisters Teresa Lumley and Delores Deitler. She was a mother, a grandmother, a licensed practical nurse, a homemaker, and caregiver of many. A simple and fun-loving soul, Joanne enjoyed playing the numbers, eating sweets, shopping for dollar store finds and stockpiling boxes of Kleenex. Above all, she enjoyed visiting and spending time with her son, daughter in law, grandchildren and grand-pets. She is survived by her only son Robert Thomas Mack, daughter-in-law Alicia Joy Mack and three grandchildren: McCauley Coletta Mack, McKenzey Phoenix Mack and Pierce Robert Mack all of Upper St. Clair, PA. She also leaves her younger sister Dorothy Travis, dear friend, Frank Semetosky and many other family and friends who will dearly miss her. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, where funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, Father Joseph Nale, officiating. Committal in Bethel United Presbyterian Cemetery, New Florence, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Portage Fire/EMS/police department.
