Cloherty, Joan M., (Claar), 84, Lilly, passed away November 4, 2019 at UPMC-Altoona. Born June 13, 1935 in Lilly, the daughter of Chalmer J., Sr. and Esther Mae (Carruthers) Claar. Deceased family members include her parents; husband Thomas F. Cloherty; brothers, Donald "Stooge"; Francis "Moe"; Ray; Chalmer Jr., and Terry Claar; sisters, Mary Eileen Claar, Carol Kukla, and Karen N. Claar. Survived by son James E. Nadolsky Sr. and fiancé Amy Farabaugh; grandsons James E. Nadolsky Jr. and Brandon T. Nadolsky and grand-dog Zoe. Sister of Eugene and wife Donna (Rickens) Claar; Janice Minielli and Marilyn Hollen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was the former owner of the Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home in Lilly and she enjoyed following sports. She was a graduate of Mount Aloysius College and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Friends received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Reverend Monsignor John R. Sasway officiating. Committal will be in St. Brigid's Cemetery, Lilly.
