Onder, Janice E. (Clark), 86, of Cresson, passed away July 1, 2025 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 27, 1938, in Johnstown, the daughter of James Edward and Mary Jane (Skufca) Clark, Sr. Deceased family members include her parents, husband, Peter Onder; brothers, Donald Clark and James Edward Clark, Jr; and sister, Mary Lou Dietz. Survived by son, Bruce (Tess Abaddon) Onder, Longbranch, WA; and daughter Sharon, wife of Robert Glass, Cresson; grandchildren, Rob and Avery; Sister of, Lavada Karalfa and Judy Meyers. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Many people may remember Jan from her work as a store clerk over the years at Portage grocery stores such as Quaker, Foodland, Riverside, and most recently, Stager's Store, from which she retired at the age of 75. Jan also enjoyed her work with her disabled clients while employed by Cambria Residential Services where she often took extra effort to know her clients' likes and dislikes to best meet their needs. Jan, or as many of us knew her by the moniker "Bugga" that her grandchildren lovingly gave her, had struggled through many health challenges over the years, but her strong will and fighting spirit had many, many times given her the might to push through and overcome these obstacles. Her driving force was her fierce love for her two grandchildren, Rob and Avery. Bugga always enjoyed caring for them and being part of their lives, even in poor health, attending their numerous activities which included swim meets, Boy Scout banquets, school award ceremonies, dance recitals, dance competitions, chorus concerts, guitar and piano recitals, and so many more. Jan also loved watching sports --especially tennis, traveling, doing word puzzles, reading, and our casino excursions whenever possible. She certainly did not like staying home if there was any opportunity to get out and do something fun with her family. She would most want to be remembered for being a loving and devoted grandmother and generous and kind person. Friends received from 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday at the Stahl Mennonite Cemetery, Pastor Carl Irwin, officiating. Online condolences may be made at serenkoclaarfuneralhome.com.
