James A. Young Sr.

Young, James A., 74, of Portage, passed away July 29, 2023 at home. Born February 6, 1949 in Altoona. The son of the late Gerald and Zoe (Madden) Young. Survived by wife, Julie (Deyarmin) Young; Children; James (Kim) Young Jr., Melissa (Todd) McKee, Vanessa (Jon) Peterman, Jessica Deyarmin, and John (Chy) Worthy, 12 grandchildren, brother, Gerald Young and dog Chloe. He was a U.S. Army veteran of 15 years and retired from F.L. Smith after 29 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, shooting, and being on the farm with his grandchildren and his dog. At Jim's request there will be no visitation or services. Family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
