Harry Zane Helsel

Helsel, Harry Zane, 86, passed away November 4, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 2, 1935 in Blue Knob, the son of Francis and Ethel (Long) Helsel. Deceased family members include his parents, wife Mary Helsel, and brother Ralph Helsel. Zane is survived by his wife, Shirley (Stombaugh) Tyger-Helsel; and daughters Linda, wife of Gene Horomanski, and Sharon, wife of Randy Ritchey. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jason Horomanski and wife Angela, Suzanne, wife of Chris Lloyd, Rebecca Ritchey and Matthew (Angelica) Ritchey and great-grandchildren Nolan and Andrew Lloyd, Nathan and Emily Horomanski, Mila and Owen Ritchey. He is also survived by his brothers Carl and Elwood Helsel and numerous nieces and nephews. Zane was a very religious man who devoted much of life to serving the Lord. He also enjoyed spending the winters at his home in Florida. Due to Covid concerns, all visitations and services will be private for the immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Martindale Alliance Church, 179 Alliance Avenue, Portage, Pa. The Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage is serving the Helsel family.
