Obituary

Smith, Gerald A., 80, Portage, passed away April 6, 2022 at home. Born March 7, 1942, in Beaverdale, the son of Gerald A. and Cleda (Mock) Baer.  Preceded in death by parents, brothers Wayne C. Smith, Milton Smith; and sister Elizabeth Smith. Survived by wife Betty L. (Mulhollen) Smith; children Gerald "Buddy" Smith III, and wife Wendy, Reidsville, North Carolina; Betty Jane Smith, Portage; grandson, Cory (Hannah) Smith and great-grandson Wyatt Smith all of Portage. Also survived by brothers Jean (Theresa) Smith, James (Joan) Smith, Wilbert (Linda) Smith, and Galen "Honeyboy" Smith and sisters Mae Miller, Shirley Smith and Patricia Chapman. Retired from Mainline Sanitation. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Three Stooges and wrestling. Friends received from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Don Jeffers, officiating.  Burial will be in Dunmyer Lutheran Cemetery, Salix, at a later date.
