Frederick J. Behe

Behe, Frederick Joseph (Fred) Behe, 72, of Lilly, passed away June 22, 2021 at UPMC-Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born September 17, 1948 in Lilly, the son of Jerome W. and Pearl F. (Funari) Behe. Deceased family members include his father. Survived by his Mother; loving wife of almost 50 years, Sally (Hershel) Behe; son, Fred Behe; and daughter Lynn, wife of Ben Watt. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Morgan, McKenzie, and Max. Brother of Rose Markel; Kenneth (Janet) Behe; Larry (Susan) Behe; Anita Booterbaugh; Joyce  Dorsch; Gerald (Mary Lou) Behe; Patrick (Robin) Behe; Sheryl  Williams; and Diane (Steve) Shuniak. Also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era and retired from the PA Dept. of Corrections as a Carpentry Instructor. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing at the Juniata River, hunting, camping, woodworking, coaching baseball and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Family will receive friends at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church, Lilly on Monday at 9 a.m. Father Matthew Reese, celebrant. Committal will be at St. Brigids Cemetery, Lilly. Military Graveside rites by Lilly Veterans Organizations.
