Esther M. (Smith) Pomento

Pomento, Esther M. (Smith), 75, of Portage, passed away July 26, 2023 at UPMC-Magee Womens Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Esther is proceeded in death by her parents, Margaret (Rebar) and Bernard Smith and her husband Nick Pomento. She is survived by daughters, Dawn and Becky (Laney), son-in-law Adam, stepchildren, Margaret Ellen, and Nick and daughter-in-law Mary Beth, and grandchildren, Greg, Alexis, Devon, Donovan, Anna, Abby, Alex, and great grandson, Vincenzo, and beloved brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dave and Sophie Pomanto. She was an avid reader and was known and loved for her sense of humor and warm heart. Esther was a homemaker and later worked at the Five and Ten in Portage and retired from the Ebensburg  Center. Friends received from 6-8, p.m., Sunday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday with Pastor Mark Fischer, officiating.The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Personal Care, Conemaugh Hospital and MaGee Hospital for their compassionate care.
