Enedy, Ernest J., 89, Portage, passed away September 11, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 7, 1930 in Portage, the son of Gabor and Mary (Jacobs) Enedy. Preceded in death by parents; first wife Ethel (Vandzura) Enedy, brothers, Joseph, John, Gilbert, Steve, and Michael Enedy and sister, Margaret Warwack; son-in-law, Victor Cordek. Ernie was the last member of his immediate family. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Helen (Kostan) Enedy, children, Anna Maria Cordek; Ernest G. (Sylvia) Enedy; Donald (Marlene) Enedy; Christine Enedy and husband Rich; and David (Stephanie) Enedy. Grandchildren, Brad, Elizabeth, Daniel Enedy, Daniel Cordek, Russell, and Rebecca. Great-grandchildren, Ariana, Abigail, and Joshua. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Served in the U.S. Navy at Midway Island. Ernie, along with his brother Steve was one of the first miners signed and they opened the Greenwich Collieries mine. Proud member of UMWA, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. Friends received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday at Holy Family Parish, Caldwell Ave., Portage, where he was a member of the choir. Fr. Thomas Stabile, TOR, celebrant.
