Elaine Leap

Elaine Leap, 60, of Lilly, was welcomed into God's Eternal arms on October 18, 2022. Elaine unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday night at Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown, PA. She was born October 20, 1961, the daughter of Russell and Gertrude (Harkabus) Leap. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell. Elaine will be dearly missed by her mother, Gertrude, her brothers, Thomas (Carol) and Kenneth (Wendy), nephew Russell (Patty), aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Elaine lovingly cared for her mother and her special Aunt Ada. Elaine earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Penn State University. Elaine enjoyed teaching and retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons where she supported GED programs, crisis support teams and coordinated reentry affairs. “This is not good-bye, but so long until we meet again.” Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday, October 24, 2022, at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Chapel, Portage Street, Lilly. Interment will be private.
