Edward Stombaugh

Stombaugh, Edward, 82 of Lilly, passed away May 1, 2024 at home. Born January 13, 1942 in Wilmore, the son of Fred and Margaret (Klock) Stombaugh. Deceased family members include his parents; sister, Joanne McCulloch; brother, Randy Stombaugh; brothers-in-law, Jim Galus, Frank Fordick, and Frank Fisiorek. Survived by loving wife of 61 years, Nancy (Galus) Stombaugh; children, Pam, wife of John Sanders; Eddie (April) Stombaugh; and Kim, wife of Bill Wilkinson. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Darren (Chelsey), Joseph (Gabbi) and Josh (Lauren) Mattern; Miranda (T.J); Will (Kayla), and Melanie (Franco) Wilkinson. Brother of, Jean Galus, Judy (Paul) Fisiorek,  Ronald (Sandy) Stombaugh, and Debbie Fisher. Also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Helen Fordick and Bob (Peggy) Galus; and care givers, Liz Stiffler, Cherri Heiss, and Kathy Martynuska. Graduated in 1959 from Portage Area High School and then attended school at Williamson Trade School. Retired Supervisor for Clark metals in Blairsville. Member of Knights of Columbus, Lilly. He could fix anything and loved helping friends and family. Friends received from 3-8 p.m., Friday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies, Church, Lilly, Father Matthew Reese celebrant. Committal will be in St. Brigids Cemetery, Lilly. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions be made to UPMC Home Healthcare and Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Dr., Altoona, PA 16601.
