Edward Kertes

Kertes, Edward, 68, passed away March 5, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born October 5, 1952 in Johnstown, the son of Steve and Jenny (Lang) Kertes. Deceased family members include his parents and sister Claudia. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rosemary (Lucas) Kertes, children Angela (Jay) Stiffler, Lilly; Claudine (Dan) Falger, Lilly; Ed (Jen) Kertes, Portage;  Laura Rocker, Patton; and Christopher (Amber) Kertes, Lilly. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Mark, Dominic, Johnny, Zachary, Ryan, Cody, Tiffany, Justin, Brenna, Mckenna, and Jude; and great-granddaughter Thea. Brother of Carol (Larry) Riggleman, Mike (Mary) Kertes and Tom Kertes. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Former coal miner for Beth Energy with 17 years service, and last employed by Cambria Residential Services. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, classic cars and watching his grandchildren play at sporting events. He was a member of the Mountaintop Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife. Friends received 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Alleghenies, Lilly. Fr. Matthew Reese, celebrant. Committal in St. Brigid's Cemetery, Lilly.
