Doris J. (Rhoades) Sendzik

Sendzik, Doris J. (Rhoades), 93, of Portage, passed away on August 8, 2024 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. Born on July 26, 1931 in Ohio, the daughter of Donald and Helen (Morgan) Rhoades. Deceased family members include her parents, husband, James Sendzik, daughter, Wanda Benzie; daughter-in-law, Janice Sendzik; and granddaughter, Stacy Lynette Sendzik; brothers, Jack, Jim, and Edward Rhoades.  She is survived by children; Delores, "Dee" wife of Wallace Dull; Sandra Petney and special friend Joe Clossin; William Sendzik; Brian (Tammy Layo) Sendzik; Lisa, wife of Victor Plummer, and James "Rick" (Annette McCabe) Sendzik.  Grandchildren, Toni, Aimee, Tara, Megan, Jeffrey, Michael, Shannon, Benjamin, Kaitlin, Madison, Jacob, and Dominic. Great grandchildren, Brendan, Bryan, Chase, Alyssa,  Carter, Abby, Blake, Nevaya, and Lakyn. Sister of, Patricia Gaston, William Rhoades, Donna Buterbaugh, and Debbie Oros. She enjoyed, visits with her family, and grandchildren, Pittsburgh Pirates, reading mystery novels, the newspaper, word searches, bird watching, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and Angels. Friends received from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Tim Dietrich, Officiating. Committal in Prospect cemetery, Portage. The family would like to give special thanks to Maybrook Hills Health Center, especially the staff of D-1.
