Doris C. (Thomas) Kuntz

Kuntz, Doris, C., (Thomas), 81, of Lilly, passed peacefully with her loving children by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on August 12, 2023, at Midtown Oaks, Altoona. Doris was born in Amsbry, on June 27, 1942, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary (Vasbinder)  Thomas. Deceased family members include her parents; brothers, Charles, Paul, and Jack (J.T) Thomas; Sister, Charlotte Brown and special friends Patsy Hershel and Murray Grabosky. Survived by former Husband and lifelong friend John Kuntz Sr., Altoona. Sons; John Kuntz Jr., Cresson, Mike Kuntz, Cresson, Emmett Kuntz, husband of Racheal (Rhoads), Altoona. Daughters; Elizabeth, wife of Clark Heming, East Berlin, Margaret David, Harrisburg, and Billie Lynn wife of Bill Haywood, Houtzdale, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother, James Thomas, Ebensburg, and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends; Emily Hershel, Terry Zavada, Chris Patterson and Kate McDaniels. Doris enjoyed being a loving mom, playing bingo, and gambling trips with friends. Doris was a devout Catholic who was a member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church, Lilly. Friends received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church, Lilly, with Father Matthew Reese Celebrant. Committal will be at the privacy of the family.
