Oravecz, David W., 62, a gentle bear of a man passed away peacefully in the palative care unit of Good Samaritan Hospital on March 29. He fought a valiant fight for 2 years after his donated kidney of 10 years failed. He was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Kotelnicki) Oravecz. Survived by sister, Carol and husband Tony Pyo; brother, Donald Oravecz, and nephew Adam and his wife Bonnie and children; niece Heather and husband Chris and children. Bill, Mike, and Ray you were true friends, and guys, you meant the world to him. David always remained optomistic, he never showed sadness and always had a greeting smile. David did hunt but his great love was fishing. Some of his best times were at his Susquehanna River Camp near Liverpool area with his brother and friends. David will be sadly missed but he has probably already found that special fishing spot with his Dad. At Davids request there will be no viewing or visitation. Family suggests contributions be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses. The Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage is serving the Oravecz family.
