Kephart, David A, Jr. 25 of Portage passed away May 14, 2018. Born December 3, 1992 in Johnstown. The son of David A. Sr. and Elise (Zaman) Kephart. Deceased family members include paternal grandmother Mary (Vaughn) Kephart and materal grandmother Judy (Moore) Zaman. He is survived by his mother and very proud Dad and brothers Cody (Alexa) Kephart and Caleb (Vanessa) Kephart. He is also survived by paternal grandfather Rev. Charles Kephart and maternal grandparents, Leslie (Mary Lou) Zaman. He will be sadly missed by loving aunts, uncles and cousins. David (Fluff) cannot be described in these few words. All who knew him or of him will remember him as a wonderful light and presence. He was a 2011 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School . He was an outstanding athlete excelling in football, and was a six time state wrestling competitor. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was an accomplished gardener. He was a Union Carpenter and superintendent for Steel Mountain Construction and was never satisfied until the job was completed to the very best. Friends will be received from 2-8pm Friday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, Portage. Friends also received from 10am Saturday till time of services at 1pm at the Martindale Alliance Church. Reverend Timothy Dietrich officiating. Committal will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery. He always knew what to say to put a smile on someone's face. He had a beautiful soul; he was the light that lit up the room. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He gave the biggest hugs and made everyone he touched feel extra special. He was selfless and always put other people first. David's quote says it best: "Pray so big and so often that when God meets you at Heaven's Gate, he says with a smile: Kid you kept me very busy!"
