Segada, Daniel R., 71, entered eternal rest July 7, 2023 at Wesleyan Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Marion, IN. Born December 5, 1951 in Altoona, PA. He was the son of the late Richard “Dick” and Mary Jean (Crago) Segada. He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy, former wife, Terry, and sister, Mary Agnes. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Neeley), who he married on April 17, 2004. He is survived by his sons, Robert and James English, Lumberton, NC, Jeff Mills and his wife Cassie, New Market, TN, and daughter Jennifer Fillers, Amboy, IN. Also survived by his brother, Charles “Jerry” and wife Lisa, Debbie Selip and husband Scott, and Andrea Aleman and husband David. He is survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Dan graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1969 and graduated with an Associates Degree from the Institute of Computer Management in Pittsburgh, PA. From there he joined the Air Force where he had fifteen years of service to our country. He was stationed at McCoy AFB (Orlando, FL), Scott AFB (Beltsville, IL), and Wright-Patterson AFB (Dayton, OH). He did tours in Okinawa, Japan and Ramstein, Germany. After the service Dan was a Computer Programmer for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. From there he became a Shift Supervisor for Strategic and helped transport physically handicapped patients to medical appointments. Dan loved to hunt with his dad and brother growing up and whenever he visited his family in Lilly. He loved to sing karaoke and had a beautiful voice. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penn State Nittany Lions fan. Dan had many memories he shared with his family and friends of growing up in Lilly and the wonderful times he had. Dan is coming back to Lilly, his home, where his heart has always been. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly, Father Matthew Reese, celebrant. Committal will be in St. Brigid's Cemetery, Lilly.
