Obituary
George, Daniel (Danny), 53 of Portage, passed away April 8, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born on October 30,1969, in Johnstown, the son of Arthur D. and Mary Jane (Poborski) George. Preceded in death by his father and his sister, Deborah George. Survived by his mother, Mary Jane; sisters, Brenda Stager and twin Dianne, wife of Allen Novotny; and nieces and nephews Heather, Travis and fiancée, Ruth Ann, and Kevin Stager, and Alexis, wife of Brenden Valko. Also survived by great nieces, Paisley, Alaya, and Riley; great nephew, Kamden; his uncle & godfather William (Jane) Poborski; uncles, Andrew "Junior" Poborski; and Joseph (Sandy) Ponczek; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins on the George side of the family. A special thanks to the caregivers that have touched his life over the years; especially niece Heather and cousin Missy Ruffing. A very special thanks to Danny’s closest friends, the Popchaks, the Timuras and the Sossongs. Dan enjoyed ringing his polka bells, and was an avid Steeler fan. Friends received 4-8pm Thursday at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Friday at Holy Family Church, Father Thomas Stabile, TOR, celebrant.
