Obituary

Cindy Lou Raptosh, 56, of Delmont, PA. passed away at UPMC-St. Margaret’s Hospital, April 8, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 23, 1964, in New Castle, PA, the daughter of the late David and Marylou (Allen) Snyder, she is survived by her loving husband, the Rev. Dr. Ronald W. Raptosh and daughter, Sarah N. Raptosh, and family dog, Toodles. She was the sister of David A. Snyder and Diane L. (Nick) Butchelle, both of New Castle. Cindy enjoyed cooking, artwork, and sketching. She was president of the United Methodist Women’s Group, Sunday school teacher and held other various positions of ministry in the churches where her husband was appointed. Cindy had an aggressive form of rheumatoid arthritis. Even with her illnesses and disabilities, Cindy was able to reach out by phone to congregational members and others beyond the church who had medical issues themselves to offer prayers and words of comfort and healing. Cindy had a profound faith in Jesus Christ and inspired so many people with her faith, trust, and joy. No matter how difficult her life was, she always had a smile that was contagious. Cindy was deeply loved by her husband, daughter, family, and church family. She will be missed. Private family visitation will be followed by a committal service at Prospect Cemetery, Portage. The Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage is serving the Raptosh family. A memorial service in celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at Faith United Methodist Church of Delmont at a later date.
