Catharine Czapp Obituary
Czapp, Catharine, E. (Pershing), 85, Wilmore, passed away February 20, 2021 at Windber Hospice. Born March 27, 1935 in Latrobe, the daughter of Daniel and Marguerite C. (George) Pershing. Deceased family members include her parents, husband Michael Czapp; brothers, John, William, and George Pershing; sisters, Marian New and Doris Sickles-Moyer; and son-in-law, Ira Korin. Survived by children, Tony Czapp and Michael Czapp (Lisa Kline), both of Wilmore; Kathleen Czapp, and Donna Korin, both of Portage. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Denelle Weller (Mark Dreibelbis); Joshua (LeAnne) Korin; Brittany (Mike) Sawko; Katie Czapp (David Engleka); and special grandchildren, Tristen and David New; and numerous great grandchildren, Also survived by in-laws, Bertha Pershing, Ruby Pershing and Ann Pershing. 1953 graduate of Wilmore High School; 1956 graduate of Latrobe Hospital School of Nursing. Retired Nursing Supervisor at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, after 28 years service. An avid reader, and also enjoyed cooking, canning, and being a caregiver for the entire family and nurse to all the street kids. Former Sacristan at St. Michaels Byzantine Church in South Fork for many years. Services and burial will be private. The Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage is serving the Czapp family.
