86, entered into eternal peace November 16, 2020. Born October 23, 1934 in Exeter, PA to John and Mariana (Zarnecki) Bednarchik. Her family moved to Puritan when Bernadine was very young. Deceased family members include her parents, husband Aloysius, brothers Joseph, Robert, Walter, Frank ("Bobo") and sisters Ann, Hedy and Theresa. Bernadine is survived by her children Bernadette, Gregory, Jeffrey (Jenifer) and Mary Beth; grandchildren Isabella and Gianna; brother Stanley; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1952 graduate of Portage Area Joint Schools, Bern was formerly employed as a proofreader for Mainline Newspapers. As a regular churchgoer, Bernadine was a member of Sacred Heart Church, St. Joseph's and then Holy Family Parish. Bern enjoyed listening to her polkas, was an avid Steelers fan, and loved her hometown of Portage. Friends received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 18, 2020 at Holy Family Parish, Portage. Committal in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Portage.
