Andrew "Andy" Raptosh, III

Raptosh, Andrew III, 73, Portage, passed away October 9, 2023 at home. Born February 15. 1950 in Johnstown, the son of Andrew Jr. and Anna (Gides) Raptosh. Deceased family members include his parents; sister, Donna Jones; sister-in-law, Kathleen Quinn; and nephews, Patrick Aungst and Adam Shuler. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Rosemary (Quinn) Raptosh and sons, Matthew Raptosh, married to the former Michele Kovall; and Brannan Raptosh, married to the former Jennifer Plummer. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Makayla; Max; Maddox; Edward; Andrew; Joseph; and Brielle. Brother of, Mary Ann (Michael) Aungst, Portage; Terri (Tim) Kinsella, Ohio; and Stephen Raptosh, Lancaster. Also survived by in-laws Ann Louise (Quinn), wife of Timothy Tremel, Portage; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Portage Area High School Graduate Class of 1969. Veteran of the US Army. Andy was a life long and active member of the Portage community. He owned and operated several businesses in the Portage area most notably the owner/operator of the Cut and Curl Beauty Shop for over 44 years. Andy was a wonderful family man; his wife, sons, and grandchildren were his world. Avid trout fisherman who taught his sons and grandchildren the art of fly fishing. He loved the "Small Town" life especially making and having many friends. A perfect description of Andy Raptosh was that he lived his life according to the words of Wadsworth, "The best portion of a good man's life is his little nameless and unremembered acts of kindness and love". At Andy's request there will be no viewing or visitation. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM to time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Caldwell Ave., Portage. Father Thomas Stabile, T.O.R. Celebrant.
