Hanak, Andrew, 86, Summerhill Twp, died Feb. 1, 2022 in Coatesville, PA. Born March 9, 1935 in Portage the son of Nicholas and Helen (Pirtko) Hanak. Deceased family members include his parents; wife, Nancy (Weamer) Hanak, brothers, Nicholas, Michael, and John Hanak; and sisters, Mary, Ann, Julia, Helen, and an infant sister, Mary. Survived by children, Stephen Hanak, Coatesville, PA; Kathryn (Richard) Lohr, Downingtown, PA; Robert (Tammi) Hanak, Washington, PA; and Jennifer Hanak, Chester Springs, PA. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Brock, Drake, Chase, Grant, Ashley, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Matthew, and Marissa. Brother of Margaret Lasko, MI. Former school teacher for Cochran Jr. High School and Johnstown High School from 1960 to 1991. US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Former Owner of Hanak's Card & Gifts in Portage and Johnstown. He enjoyed softball and tennis and playing pinochle with his grandchildren. Friends received from 3 to 7 PM Sunday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where Parastas will be sung at 6 PM. Funeral services will be held at 9 AM Monday at St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Portage. Fr. Gregori Tsjouman, Officiant. Committal in St. Michaels' Cemetery. Military Funeral Rites by the Portage Ritual Team.
