Leap, Albert A., 88, of Lilly (Dutchtown), was called home December 28, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 10, 1931 in Lilly, the son of Thomas and Agnes (Myers) Leap. "Uncle Abby" is survived by and will be dearly missed by his beloved sister, Ada (Slebodnick); sister-in- law Gertrude (Russ’s wife); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Abby was called "home" by his parents, brothers, Melvin and Homer, who died with their father in the Sonman Mine Explosion, July 15, 1940, his brothers Robert and Russell and sisters, Dorothy and Alberta. He will also be sadly missed by the Kevin Hines Family, Munster. He was a proud Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. After service to his country, he attended and became a proud alumnus of St. Francis College and Indian State University of PA. He retired as an educator, of 46 years from Penn Cambria School District. “Mr. Leap”, could be found anywhere from the classrooms, to the hallways, and even at numerous school activities. He enjoyed gardening and farming. Family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Father Matthew Reese, Celebrant.
