Michael Zaher

Zaher, Michael, 91, Lilly, passed away February 10, 2019 at home. Born October 22, 1927 in Barnsboro, the son of John and Esther (Gall) Zaher. Deceased family members include his parents and brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Helen (Kunish) Zaher; son Joseph Kuisick and wife Kimberly and grandchildren: Christy and Joseph. Also survived by sister Mary Ann Madey, best friend Mary Kay Furfari and numerous nieces and nephews. He was an SFC Army Veteran of WWII serving for 21 years and retired as head of maintenance from Portage Area School District. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being a handyman. Friends received from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Parish, Caldwell Avenue, Portage. Fr. Tom Stabile, TOR celebrant. Committal in St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore. Military Rites by the Portage Ritual Team.
