John L. Harshberger

Harshberger, John L., 64, Portage passed away December 24, 2019 at home.  Born October 5, 1955 in Johnstown, the son of Melvin and Edith (Roush) Harshberger. Deceased family members include his parents, mother and father-in-law, Stanley and Josefa (Pucher) Goldyn; and niece Shannon Klein.  Survived by wife of 41 years, Janet (Goldyn) Harshberger; sons, Justin and wife Cassie, Selinsgrove; Jason, Hollidaysburg; and Joshua and wife Rachael, Roaring Springs; and grandchildren, Gavin Lee, Keira Jo, Ada Grace, Landon Paul, and Grace Elizabeth Harshberger. Brother of, Glenn and Pat Harshberger; Harry and Denise Harshberger; Sharon Troy; Tim and Lorri Harshberger; Cathy and Dexter Smith; and Terri and Jeff Arnold. Also survived by in-laws, Joseph and Teresa Goldyn; Stanley and Gaye Goldyn, and Marion and Wanda Goldyn and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Retired from Beth Energy Mine 33 and the Ebensburg Center. Enjoyed  bowling, riding his motorcycle, going to the river with his family and being with his grandchildren; he was a fantastic grandfather.  Member of the Portage Sportsmans; and Lifetime member of St. Bartholomew Church. Friends received from 4-8 p.m., Friday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Wilmore, Father Joseph Nale, celebrant.  Committal in St. Bartholew Cemetery, Wilmore.
