John P. Girard

Girard, John P. 91, of Portage, passed away November 11, 2018 at home. Born May 9, 1927, in Lilly, the son of Anthony and Rose (Marsh) Girard. Deceased family members include his parents; wife, Dolores (DeCarlo) Girard and brothers Michael, Joseph, and Dominic. He is survived by his children; Mary Stiffler, Hollidaysburg; Rose Marie wife of Raymond George Ernest, Jr., Portage; and John Girard, Jr. married to the former Wendy Synder, Portage. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Sara (John); Apryle & Hannah Ernest and Olivia and Simon Girard. Also survived by great-grandchildren; brothers; Elmer and Francis and sister, Pauline. U.S Army veteran of the Korean War and he retired from Bethlehem Steel. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, working on vehicles and playing the lottery. Friends received from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, Caldwell Ave., Portage. Fr.
