Lukacs, George M., 92, Lilly, passed away February 16, 2018 at home. Born on September 11, 1925 in Portage Township. He was the son of Matthew and Kathryn (Kosch) Lukacs. Survived by loving wife, of 67 years, Margaret (Lusick) Lukacs; children, Mary Kay, Jeanne (Charles) Forbeck, Thomas, Rita (Robert) Parry, Barbara (Brian) Bart; Dorothy Phillips and Paul (Monique). Also survived by brother-in-law Edwin Morley, sister-in-law, Mary Lucas and many nieces and nephews. Deceased family members include his parents, son, Bobby; grandson Matthew Bart; brothers, John, Andrew, Michael, Larry (Aggie) and Franklin. Sister of, Ann Szafranski (Chester), Kay Krajewski (Frank), and Mary Morley. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Tessa, Andrea, Ryan, Kevin, Bobby, Stephen, Jamie, Brad, Kelly, Lindsey, Taylor, Sean and Bryce as well as great-grandchildren Ava, Jenna, Leah, Mason and Lincoln. He was a graduate of Lilly High School Class of 1943 and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943-1946, as a 3rd class Radarman stationed in the Pacific during WW II. He worked at Bethlehem Steel retiring in 1983 as a brick layer. He played in the Industrial Baseball league, was a member of the Sokols Club and American Legion in Lilly. George was also a member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies, and Lilly War Memorial Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, hunting, fishing, baking and cooking. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Chapel, Lilly. Monsignor John R. Sasway, celebrant. Committal will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lilly. Military graveside rites by Lilly Veterans Organizations.
